Senior Researcher Agroecology, Plant community ecology

ANSES, France

Guillaume Fried is a plant ecologist specializing in large-scale, long-term plant monitoring networks. His research investigates how changes in agricultural practices, landscape features, and abiotic factors affect plant communities in agroecosystems, integrating methods from community, functional and landscape ecology as well as macroecology. Since 2012, he has focused particularly on the effects of farming practices—especially pesticide use—on non-target flora in field margins. More recently, his work has broadened to examine the cascading effects of management practices on plant communities and their associated organisms, including beetles and pollinators.
